What are American car parts cheap?
I have a Japanese car and the parts it are really expensive, I had to get a new start for my eclipse and it cost 134$. When I looked up who much it would cost for an american car it was 40 dollars. Why the parts so much different in cost. I am thinking about getting a mustang, I been looking and repair costs seem cheaper.
It’s not that simple. I have a 1979 Ford pick up that has only had a fuel pump and a carb kit put in it in 30 years. I am the second owner. The engine knocks, and it smokes, BUT IT STILL RUNS. I don’t drive it too far though…
The point is that it all depends on where the vehicle is kept, how it’s driven and a multitude of other factors.
I’d like to know what kind of car has a $40 starter! I own a shop, and I haven’t seen a starter UNDER $80 in 10 years!
So find something you like. Find something that suits what you need and then look here http://www.edmunds.com/apps/cto/CTOintroController
It will give you the true cost of ownership over a 5 year period. There is no “this car is the best”
